(WKTV) &#8212; Millions of New Yorkers are receiving energy rebate checks.<\/p>\n<p>According to Gov. Kathy Hochul, 3 million people in the State have already received checks of up to $200, with another 5.2 million checks being sent in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The Protecting Our Wallets Energy Rebate, or POWER, is a one-time $1 billion program included in Hochul\u2019s enacted budget.<\/p>\n<p>POWER checks are $200 for joint filers with incomes under $150,000 and $150 for joint filers earning between $150,000 and $300,000.<\/p>\n<p>Single filers with incomes under $150,000 will get $100.<\/p>\n<p>The checks started going out on Sept. 21 and will continue through December.<\/p>\n<p>In total, 8.2 million New Yorkers will receive a check.<\/p>\n<p>No application or sign-up is needed.<\/p>\n<p>The State Tax Department is mailing checks automatically to those who qualify.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tax.ny.gov\/pit\/energy-rebate-check.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">For more information, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ALBANY, N.Y.
