(WIBW) &#8211; Family members rescued a person with a physical disability after fire broke out in a Manhattan home late Wednesday morning, officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The blaze was reported around 10:55 a.m. Wednesday at 2409 Lookout Drive, in the area of Anderson Avenue and Bellehaven Road on the west side of Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Upon their arrival, officials said, Manhattan Fire Department crews found a single-story home with flames and smoke showing from the attached garage. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Crews responded to a house fire late Wednesday morning at 2409 Lookout Drive, on the west side...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/JPTJNPY34ZFPVCC47YNOIVSVXQ.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"735\" \/>Crews responded to a house fire late Wednesday morning at 2409 Lookout Drive, on the west side of Manhattan.(Submitted)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The fire was contained within 15 minutes. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Officials said family members removed the person with a physical disability before fire crews arrived on the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The cause of the fire was under investigation as of early Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A loss estimate wasn\u2019t available early Wednesday afternoon, but Manhattan Fire Department officials said damage to the residence was \u201csignificant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A total of 15 Manhattan firefighters responded on five trucks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The home\u2019s owner is listed as Wanda Jepsen, of the same address, officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Motorists were advised to avoid the area while emergency crews were on the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Check <a href=\"https:\/\/wibw.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/wibw.com\" target=\"_blank\">wibw.com<\/a> later for more details as they become available.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WIBW.
