Hoping to capitalize on New Yorkers\u2019 post-election worries, Sen. Dave McCormick released a video message<\/a> Monday inviting Big Apple dwellers to head to the Keystone State to escape a city under a Democratic Socialist mayor. <\/p>\n

The message opens with a dark montage of Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani\u2019s images, getting light when McCormick appears and asks:<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you worried about your future in New York? Because I have just the place for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The video goes on to describe some of Pennsylvania\u2019s attributes: mountains, winning football teams and world-class universities, before adding this sure-to-be-controversial line: <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd no one is going to make you feel unwelcome for loving America, loving freedom and loving your God.\u201d<\/p>\n

McCormick touts a comeback of the state\u2019s steel industry, bustling life sciences sector and AI \u201crevolution\u201d as reasons to head south, before blasting New York for high taxes, \u201csocialists and losing football teams.\u201d<\/p>\n

A pre-election survey found close to 1 million New Yorkers were considering packing up if Mamdani won. It\u2019s not the first time there have been predictions of a mass exodus over some coming change in New York City. <\/p>\n

In reality, thousands of New Yorkers have in fact been leaving the city in recent years over the high cost of living, especially the high rents \u2014 exactly the issues that Mamdani ran on with a pledge to fix.<\/p>\n
