WALLINGFORD, CT \u2013 The Manhattan Jaspers Women’s Golf put together a stellar round with a third-place finish at the Quinnipiac Classic at The Farms Country Club on Monday and Tuesday mornings.<\/p>\n

HOW IT HAPPENED\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Continuing where it left off from the week prior at the Navy Fall Invitational with a top five finish, were the Green and White, who performed exceptional for a second consecutive week, with Miren Ontanon<\/a> and Leonie Krausse<\/a> pacing the Jaspers.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In the first round for Ontanon, she put together a second hole birdie, before recording par, apart from the eighth hole down the stretch of the first round.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On the back nine, Ontanon continued to shine with another birdie, and just one bogey to round out a one stroke over par first round.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For Krausse, the transfer paced Manhattan in the opening round with three birdies and captured two over par throughout the round but leveled out on the backside.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In the second round, it was Giana Zinke<\/a> who opened the round with six consecutive pars, before registering a 17th hole birdie down the stretch.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To round out the tournament for the Green and White, Krausse led the team with another two birdies throughout, while opening with six consecutive pars, or birdies.<\/p>\n

Head Coach Keith Prokop: “It has been a great semester with just one event left to go. We unfortunately have yet to be at full strength as a team, but we have such a strong team across the board which is evident in our consistent high finishes. The team is working hard and is excited for our last event of the semester next week.”<\/p>\n

NEXT UP<\/p>\n

The Green and White close out its fall campaign on Monday and Tuesday, October 19 and 20, when the Jaspers take part in the Crusader Invitational at the Worcester Country Club in Worcester, MA.<\/p>\n
