At 262 Fifth Avenue, a striking new architectural feature sets this tower apart: the building’s crucial infrastructure is moved entirely outside the apartment perimeter, making it a column-free luxury retreat. Meganom, collaborating with WSP and GEA, devised this innovative exo-core arrangement, allowing the interiors of the 860-foot NoMad skyscraper to remain free of interior columns. This approach offers cleaner, more spacious living areas across the tower’s 26 full-floor and duplex residences.

Boris Kuzinez, founder of Five Points Development Group, views architecture as an intrinsic part of daily life, emphasizing protection and shaping of environments. Yury Grigoryan of Meganom believes in imbuing human significance into simple forms. The building’s facade is a testament to this philosophy, composed of over 220,000 anodized aluminum brick elements that dynamically reflect daylight. At the top, a 70-foot oculus featuring a 24-karat gold inverted arch, crafted with Giusto Manetti Battiloro, crowns the structure with artistic flair, further enhancing its reputation as a luxury tower.

"Spacious

Meganom brought in Norm Architects from Copenhagen for the interiors, marking a significant first Manhattan luxury project for both studios. The relocation of the core infrastructure allows for fully customizable floor plans and panoramic views, augmented by floor-to-ceiling windows up to 20 feet high. This design ensures that the residence adheres to Passive House principles with Rehau’s advanced thermal solutions, ensuring energy-efficient comfort.

Norm Architects spearheaded the interior design with three guiding principles: Sanctuary in the Sky, Soft Elegance, and Sculptural Balance. Partner Peter Eland envisioned homes that serve as tranquil retreats, offering respite from the bustling streets below while maintaining a connection to the city through curated views. Such thoughtful planning elevates the project well into the realm of luxury architecture.

Natural light is a vital component, creating shifting patterns throughout the day. A monochromatic palette highlights material qualities, and geometric forms echo the sculptural nature of the building’s exterior. This minimalism is further reflected in the choice of materials and finishes throughout the sophisticated residence.

Integrated elements from Molteni&C and leather-finished handrails by Perugini add luxury without excess. Lualdi‘s acoustically insulated doors and Flos‘ discreet lighting systems ensure functionality complements the sleek design in this modern sanctuary.
