{"id":374767,"date":"2026-10-16T12:46:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-16T12:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/374767\/"},"modified":"2026-10-16T12:46:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-16T12:46:09","slug":"man-68-beaten-after-worker-at-bronx-grocery-store-accuses-him-of-theft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/374767\/","title":{"rendered":"Man, 68, beaten after worker at Bronx grocery store accuses him of theft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 68-year-old man was beaten by two men at a Bronx grocery store \u2014 one of the suspects a store employee who thought the victim was shoplifting, cops said Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The victim told police that he was shopping at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.finefaresupermarkets.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fine Fare Supermarket<\/a> on E.\u00a0 167th St. near Gerard Ave. in Highbridge when the worker accused him of stealing just before 6 p.m. on Sept. 21.<\/p>\n<p>An argument ensued that ended with the worker and another man pummeling the victim, punching him multiple times.<\/p>\n<p>The victim refused medical attention.<\/p>\n<p>The NYPD on Thursday released images of two suspects and is asking for the public\u2019s help tracking them down.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information is asked to call <a href=\"https:\/\/crimestoppers.nypdonline.org\/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crime Stoppers<\/a> at (800) 577-TIPS.
