New polling data presented by CNN on Wednesday revealed a significant divide between New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani<\/a> and Jewish voters in New York state, pointing to a sharp erosion of traditional support for the Democratic Party among this group.<\/p>\n

According to a September Siena poll, 64% of Jewish voters in New York state view Mamdani unfavorably, compared with 33% who view him favorably.<\/p>\n

The disparity is particularly striking when compared with the broader electorate. Statewide, Mamdani, a democratic socialist elected mayor in November 2025, holds a 46% favorable rating, compared with 44% who view him unfavorably. Among Jewish voters<\/a>, however, the figures tell a markedly different story.<\/p>\n

In an analysis presented on Wednesday, CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten reported that Mamdani had a net favorability rating of minus 23 percentage points among Jewish voters, compared with a positive eight-point rating among voters statewide.<\/p>\n

The figures represent a 31-point gap between Jewish voters’ attitudes toward the mayor and those of the general electorate.<\/p>\n
