The median asking price among those newly listed homes was $1.14 million. (Those waterfront views never come cheap, after all.)

But one of the more interesting spots was Washington Heights, where new listings jumped 42.1% to 54. Its median asking price was $539,500, comfortably the lowest among the report’s 10 neighborhoods with the biggest annual increases. StreetEasy considered neighborhoods with at least 50 new listings and ranked them by percentage growth rather than sheer volume.

Astoria also delivered more fresh options, with 95 new listings, up 28.4%, and a median asking price of $999,000. Across the river, Williamsburg added 109 listings, up 26.7%, while Brooklyn Heights recorded 50, up 25%. Their median asking prices were $1.45 million and $1,472,500, respectively.

Photograph: Courtesy Berlin RosenFlatiron Building

Manhattan’s pricier enclaves were busy, too. Flatiron’s new listings climbed 67.8%, while Tribeca’s rose 30.7%. The Upper East Side added 603 new listings, up 17.5%—far more than any other neighborhood in the report’s top 10.

But before you start calling the movers, there’s a catch: more new listings haven’t translated into more homes available overall. Total sales inventory was still down 4.9% year over year after strong summer sales and 21.1% of homes sold above their latest asking price in September. Rising mortgage rates are also squeezing buyers’ budgets. The number of homes entering contract fell 5.4% from last September, suggesting some shoppers are hitting pause.

So, there’s more to browse, especially if you’re looking in Queens or upper Manhattan. Whether your budget stretches to the keys is another very New York question.

New Yorkers shopping for a home finally have a little more to choose from—and a few reasons to…

[6
23090,9,11,10,23091,1491
post-375128","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-new-york","tag-categories-real-estate","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-headlines","tag-new-york-news","tag-news-real-estate","tag-real-estate
["GET
