How many years have you lived in New York City? I\u2019m in show business. I can\u2019t do math, but I think I\u2019ve been living in New York for 35 years.<\/p>\n

How\u2019d you get so lucky? Got a rent-control apartment. Never leave it.<\/p>\n

You could make one subway-etiquette rule law. What would it be? Fellas, please close your legs.<\/p>\n

Someone bumps into you on the subway, what do you do? I look at them, and if it\u2019s a lady, I\u2019ll say, \u201cHey, how you doing?\u201d And if it\u2019s a guy, I say, \u201cGet the fuck off me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Your train line is down and you\u2019re running late, what do you do? Go home.<\/p>\n

How often do you take public transit to the airport? Never.<\/p>\n

Someone tries to hand you a flyer on the street. What do you do? If it\u2019s religious, I will not take it. If it\u2019s a show flyer, I\u2019ll take it.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re in Murray Hill and you need to have dinner ASAP or you will pass out. Where do you go? Murray Hill Diner.<\/p>\n

Someone tells you that the rats are actually cute, what\u2019s your honest response? They\u2019re not as cute as me. I mean, right?<\/p>\n

Have you ever actually been to Staten Island? I\u2019ve driven through it.<\/p>\n

Do you call Manhattan \u201cthe city\u201d or just \u201cManhattan\u201d? The city.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the longest you\u2019ve ever waited on a subway platform? Back in the old days, I\u2019ve waited an hour and a half. They used to never come to \u2014 the L train would never come. And I\u2019d have a couple vodka gimlets from, you know, being out that night. And I would sit there and rot in the subway for hours. And it\u2019s nice and hot and sweaty in there.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the most you\u2019ve ever paid for a coffee in NYC? Ten dollars. I know, it\u2019s bullshit.<\/p>\n

What is something a tourist does that you secretly still do? Play pickleball.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your go-to public bathroom? I\u2019m going to get in trouble for saying this: McNally Jackson.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your best NYC celeb sighting? John Waters.<\/p>\n

Name the fakest realtor-invented neighborhood. Murray Hill.<\/p>\n

You know you\u2019re a New Yorker when \u2026 Your cab driver is driving so fast, and you might die, but you don\u2019t say anything because you\u2019ll get there quick enough.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re old enough to remember when \u2026 Cover charge for a nightclub was five dollars.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s a place that closed that you wish you could bring back? Florent. It was a diner in the Meatpacking District. It was the best place.<\/p>\n

Who is the sexiest New Yorker? Sarah Jessica Parker.<\/p>\n

Last time you ate a hot dog from a hot-dog stand? Not from a hot-dog stand, but I had one at a barbecue in the Hamptons.<\/p>\n

Every New Yorker should do this at least once \u2026 Talk to a stranger.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the nicest thing a stranger has done for you in New York? You know what, this is real. I lost my wallet. I dropped it on the floor, and somebody picked it up, knocked on my door two days later, and gave it back to me. There was nothing in it, but he gave it back to me.<\/p>\n

Last thing you used your famous-person status to get in New York? To make a reservation at the Strip House in New York. The one on 12th Street.<\/p>\n

Last time you hailed a yellow cab? Six years ago.<\/p>\n

Has your phone ever gone off during a performance? Yes. My own performance. When I\u2019m on stage, it\u2019s gone off. And I\u2019ve answered it.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the best place to perform in NYC? Joe\u2019s Pub.<\/p>\n

Have you ever had an altercation with a neighbor? Yes. I was trying to move my air conditioner, and my finger got caught in it, and it dropped. And my neighbor went insane saying that I tried to kill her. And I said, \u201cIt didn\u2019t hit you. You were inside.\u201d And she was like, \u201cYou tried to \u2014 you could have killed me.\u201d I was like, \u201cYou were inside.\u201d And my thumb is like \u2014 my fingers hanging off. I didn\u2019t hit you. We\u2019re good.\u201d That\u2019s about as angry as I\u2019ll ever get.<\/p>\n
