NEW YORK (TNND) \u2014 A man was shot and killed during an argument at a subway station in New York on Saturday afternoon, according to authorities. <\/p>\n
The New York Police Department (NYPD) said they are searching for the suspect. <\/p>\n
Police said the shooting was reported shortly before 12:21 p.m. on the northbound E train platform at the 53rd Street-Seventh Avenue station in Manhattan near Times Square. <\/p>\n
Investigators said an unidentified man approached another unidentified man, displayed a gun, and fired once, hitting him in the chest.<\/p>\n
First responders tried to save the man’s life at the scene before he was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals\/Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead, police said.<\/p>\n
Police did not release a possible motive or say whether the men knew each other. They also didn’t say what led up to the dispute. <\/p>\n
The suspect ran from the station and was last seen heading north on Seventh Avenue, police said. He was described as a man wearing a red tracksuit, black vest and black face mask, and carrying a backpack.<\/p>\n
The killing occurred in the Midtown North Precinct and Transit District 1, an area that includes some of the city’s busiest subway stations and tourist corridors.<\/p>\n
