Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/en\/weather-forecasts\/new-noreaster-to-howl-along-mid-atlantic-coast-by-next-week-with-renewed-beach-erosion-coastal-flooding\/1947795\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/en\/weather-forecasts\/new-noreaster-to-howl-along-mid-atlantic-coast-by-next-week-with-renewed-beach-erosion-coastal-flooding\/1947795\">AccuWeather is forecasting another coastal storm<\/a> to develop this weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"T4TGG5W5L5CWJNQJAUCPXNZFSM\">The nor\u2019easter is expected to bring long-duration gusty winds, beach erosion and tidal flooding to areas along the coast. However, as of Saturday morning, AccuWeather meteorologists do not believe this storm will be as severe as the one experienced in late September.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2JDK37ZTSNDALDILM5SG3D2NDM\">\u201cThe most significant coastal impacts are expected close to the center of the storm, potentially on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, southeastern Virginia and the beach communities of Maryland and Delaware,\u201d AccuWeather senior meteorologist Adam Douty said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"R3HCXUSIH5H6NHZ6NHM4IEQPBI\">The AccuWeather report did not suggest there would be significant impacts to New York City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"GOPQ2VAOXFDZRPYH3D25RBLIZU\">While the most intense wind gusts will be closest to the storm, from southeastern Virginia to the Outer Banks, wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph are expected to reach as far as southern New Jersey, according to AccuWeather.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7IABXBZKBJBDVCKPWKXNY33G4E\">\u201cIf the storm moves close enough to the coast, there can also be bouts of potentially heavy rain from New Jersey to the eastern part of the Carolinas,\u201d Douty added. \u201cWhile this could raise some inland urban flooding concerns, the most significant impacts would likely remain along the coast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"AZRSAIGEGVDFTP3OBNCG5WMHPQ\">Given the storm is expected to move slowly, there will be multiple high-tide cycles in which coastal flooding could pose an issue for areas along the coast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"D4EEEAFROZF77IEKPH4ELXOMFQ\">\u201cAs the storm lingers near the warm waters of the Gulf Stream next week, it can gradually take on tropical or subtropical characteristics,\u201d Douty said. \u201cRegardless of whether or not the low pressure area becomes a tropical or subtropical storm, expected impacts would effectively remain the same.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 It was just a few weeks ago that a nor\u2019easter brought powerful winds and&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":375814,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[37],"tags":[9,24,63,122,124,123],"class_list":["post-375813","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-queens","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nyc","tag-queens","tag-queens-headlines","tag-queens-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/375813","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=375813"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/375813\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/375814"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=375813"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=375813"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=375813"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
