Brooklyn EXPO 2026: Boss EX-4 FX Expander US

We spoke to Austin from Boss\u00a0about the EX-4, their new effects expander in the 200-series chassis. He said it had arrived only a couple of weeks before the show.<\/p>\n

The EX-4 is a compact multi-effects unit for pedalboards and can run four algorithms at once. It includes effects such as distortion, compression, EQ, reverb, delay and chorus, but does not include amplifier or cabinet simulation. Many models come from the GX series, with AIRD processing and sounds related to the 200- and 500-series pedals.<\/p>\n

The front-panel buttons switch effects on and off, while the chain view allows serial or parallel routing and effect reordering. Preset storage includes around 150 internal presets, plus Gear Suite presets for specific effects. Stereo I\/O is included, and the additional input and output can operate as an effects loop for four-cable setups. Expression pedals can control effect parameters.<\/p>\n

The EX-4 is available now for $329.99 MAP in the US.
