Manhattan born writer\/director Tony Gilroy<\/a> doesn\u2019t direct everything he writes, but in a way he feels he\u2019s always directing, at least in his mind.<\/p>\n

His new movie \u201cBehemoth!<\/a>\u201d \u2014 screened at the Hamptons International Film Festival<\/a> last week \u2014 has him in both jobs for the first time since 2007\u2019s \u201cMichael Clayton,\u201d starring George Clooney.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally great writing is about journalism that\u2019s in your head. Even in the beginning, I was directing every movie I ever wrote, in my head. I think you have to,\u201d Gilroy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBehemoth!\u201d stars Pedro Pascal as a concert cellist. Olivia Wilde plays one of many former girlfriends.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t write well if you\u2019re not directing the movie in your head. How are you going to tell anyone about it?\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n

And does he edit in his head? Nope. He leaves that to his brother John<\/a>, who was standing next to him on the red carpet.<\/p>\n

Before they were in show business they tended bar in New York during \u201cthe blender years,\u201d John tells me. \u201cI could make you a melon ball right now.\u201d Cheers.<\/p>\n

Interior designer Geoffrey Bradfield<\/a> raised eyebrows at his 80th birthday party at the Lowell Hotel with a group of nearly naked male models body-painted in safari garb.<\/p>\n

Clothed safari guides in white hats and suits with fake mustaches greeted the guests, who included Sharon Bush, Peter Thomas Roth, Susan Gutfreund, Lucia Hwong Gordon, Paola Bacchini, Leesa Rowland, and Jacqueline Weld Drake.<\/p>\n

Bradfield also had Jeff Koons-inspired balloons of wild animals \u2014 including a camel, rhinoceros and lion \u2014 which Bradfield had produced in China especially for the party.<\/p>\n

Zebra tablecloths and napkins completed the safari theme, and the walls were decorated with faux magazine covers of Bradfield and his partner, auctioneer William Featherby.<\/p>\n

Since Frederique Constant watches were on display Wednesday night at a Rainbow Room fashion event, we had to ask a few influencers and icons: \u201cIs it better to be fashionably early or fashionably late?\u201d<\/p>\n

If you want to own a piece of Camelot magic, M.S. Rau<\/a> in New Orleans is offering a 1961 rocking chair owned by President John F. Kennedy that he used to help soothe his chronic back pain in the White House for $498k.<\/p>\n

It is the only Kennedy rocker known to have been gifted by the President; he gave it to his friend W. Averell Harriman.<\/p>\n

The bond between the families ran deep: following JFK\u2019s assassination, Jackie Kennedy and her two children stayed at Harriman\u2019s house in Georgetown.<\/p>\n

Youth America Grand Prix<\/a> (YAGP), the world\u2019s largest dance network based in New York, will present a series of performances at Jacob\u2019s Pillow in Becket, Massachusetts this weekend (Oct. 16 to 18).<\/p>\n

The Fresh Voices in Dance series will spotlight the next generation of choreographers and ballet talent.<\/p>\n

The program features works developed through the Marcella Hymowitz Creative Fellowship for Choreography, made possible by a million-dollar gift to YAGP from her husband Gregg Hymowitz.<\/p>\n

The featured choreographers come from all over the world, including \u201cSo You Think You Can Dance\u201d finalist Braylon Browner, Swiss-Brazilian Davidson Farias, Rio de Janeiro\u2019s Manoela Gon\u00e7alves, Afro-Italian choreographer Nnamdi Nwagwu, and My\u2019Kal Stromile.<\/p>\n

Now in its 28th season, YAGP has supported more than 300k young dancers through scholarships, education and performance opportunities.<\/p>\n

Guns N\u2019 Roses frontman Axl Rose was set to join fellow rock star Yoshiki on stage at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park<\/a> in front of 60K people before the event was rained out.<\/p>\n

The two rehearsed together and planned to perform Yoshiki\u2019s hit \u201cRed Swan.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m heartbroken that the festival was canceled. Axl\u2019s kindness helped me get through all of this. I hope we\u2019ll have another opportunity to rock together soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

This week, Josh Groban and the Japanese rock star released their music video \u201cForever Love,\u201d which is being considered for multiple Grammy categories, including Best Asian Pop Music Performance.<\/p>\n
