Saints escape New York with wild win over Giants, New Orleans snaps 3-game losing streak

"FletcherEAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. —

Team owner Gayle Benson’s pointed comments earlier this week motived her struggling football team.

In what was a wild game that saw bulk scoring from both teams, the Saints hold off the New York Giants and win 34-27.

The Black & Gold are now 2-4 overall. The Giants are 3-2-1.

Down 10-0 the Saints rattled off 34-consecutvie points and led 34-10 in the 4th quarter.

Tyler Shough passed for three scores and rushed for another.

New Orleans’ defense held former New Orleans fan favorite Jameis Winston to just 152 yards and he threw two interceptions. The Black & Gold defense also sacked Winston four time before he was benched for Giants backup QB J.J. McCarthy.

McCarthy rallied New York to a spirited 4th quarterback comeback, making the game very uncomfortable for the Saints.

New York actually had a chance to tie or win the game on the final plays but fell short.

McCarthy passed for 243 yards in the 4th quarter, he had 1 TD and 1 interception.

The Saints will leave New York and go directly to France to play the first-ever NFL regular season game in Paris. The Black & Gold will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game that cane be seen next Sunday morning on WDSU. Kickoff is at 8:30 am CST.

Saints escape New York with wild win over Giants, New Orleans snaps 3-game losing streak EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.…

[8
138446,23992,18762,4084,1621,15953,97833,3686,138442,9,24,55,54,56,22600,54725,138443,121563,138444,138445,114612
post-376465","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-new-york-city","tag-4th-quarter","tag-black","tag-defense","tag-giants","tag-gold","tag-interception","tag-mccarthy","tag-new-orleans","tag-new-orleans-snaps-3-game-losing-streak","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-new-york-city-headlines","tag-new-york-city-news","tag-ny","tag-saint","tag-saints","tag-saints-escape-new-york-with-wild-win-over-giants","tag-wdsu","tag-wild-game","tag-wild-win","tag-winston
["GET
