A hit-and-run driver who rammed into a uniformed NYPD cop<\/a> responding to a rowdy weekend gathering in the Bronx was arrested early Monday, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Eduardo Paulino, 31, was picked up by the US Marshals Service and the NYPD and charged with attempted murder of a police officer in connection with the Saturday night mayhem, law enforcement sources said.<\/p>\n

Paulino \u2013 who has one previous arrest for an assault just last month \u2013 tried to make a quick getaway when cops responded to Garrison Avenue and Whittier Street in the South Bronx after receiving a 911 call about a large crowd and loud music, according to cops and sources.<\/p>\n

He allegedly hopped behind the wheel of a white Honda Pilot and sped off, hitting a uniformed officer in his path, cops said.<\/p>\n

The injured officer was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, according to police.<\/p>\n

Paulino was also charged with assault, vehicular assault, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and disorderly conduct, the sources said.<\/p>\n
