He was assigned to the same precinct.(Google Maps)<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"UIG7XKWZ7BDQLJX6Y5S3AIZGU4\">STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Moments before a pre-trial hearing Wednesday for a former NYPD detective <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/crime-safety\/2025\/05\/nypd-detective-charged-with-staten-island-dwi-allegedly-crashed-pickup-into-2-cars.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/crime-safety\/2025\/05\/nypd-detective-charged-with-staten-island-dwi-allegedly-crashed-pickup-into-2-cars.html\">charged with DWI earlier this year in a crash on Staten Island,<\/a> the case instead was resolved with a plea deal. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"UBKJWWJHHVCSHPMTWUOMQPVXHY\">The defendant, Leonid Shatkin, 42, of Greenridge, was arrested May 11 after police said he crashed his Ford F-150 pickup truck into a pair of parked vehicles in Grant City. The incident occurred in the 122nd Precinct, where Shatkin was assigned.
