A 47-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on the Taconic State Parkway in Yorktown Friday, New York State Police said.<\/p>\n
At about 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 16, state police in Hawthorne observed a Ford Escape parked on the shoulder near Exit 16, with a man lying on the ground nearby.<\/p>\n
Investigators determined that the man had exited his vehicle when he was struck by a northbound 2026 Mazda. The Mazda left the scene, police said.<\/p>\n
The Yorktown Police Department later located a vehicle matching the description, with significant damage, near Exit 19. The driver was identified as Richard A. Yusufov, 29, of Brooklyn.<\/p>\n
The victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries. His current condition was not revealed.<\/p>\n
Yusufov was charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting \u2014 personal injury, a Class E felony. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Nov. 12 at 9:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
State police credited the Yorktown Police Department and the Westchester Real Time Center with assisting in the investigation.<\/p>\n
