PACE FINISHES BIG RENOVATION TO CAMPUS
Pace University has finished a five-year, $276 million construction project that transformed One Pace Plaza East with a newly renovated Maria\u2019s Tower, the nearly 400-foot residence tower on Gold Street, and a new home for its Sands College of Performing Arts. The project also gives theater and dance students new stages, studios, screening rooms and professional-grade scene and costume shops, as well as the city\u2019s very first fully ADA accessible theaters \u2013 from seats to lighting rigs \u2013 so that every student can take part in the technical life of a production. HOW ART CAN HELP MAKE SENSE OF TRAUMA
Tribecan and artist Todd Stone will be joined by Clifford Chanin, EVP and director of the 9\/11 Memorial & Museum, and Miguel Arraiz, the architect behind the Burning Man Temple 2025, for a conversation on how art, architecture and cultural institutions can help make sense of collective trauma, preserve memory, and imagine what comes next. The talk is on Thursday, October 29, from 5 to 7p at 3 World Trade Center | 71st and 80th floor. A collection of 100 of Todd\u2019s paintings will be on view. BPCA PANEL ON 9\/11 RECOVERY
The Battery Park City Authority will host a panel discussion on Lower Manhattan\u2019s resiliency, transformation and future 25 years after 9\/11 on Thursday, October 22, 4p, at Wagner Park\u2019s pavilion classroom. The panel will be moderated by Raju Mann, the president and CEO of BPCA and include Leila Bozorg, deputy mayor for Housing and Planning, Steve Fulop, president & CEO of Partnership for NYC, Jessica Lappin, president of Downtown Alliance, Tom Wright, executive director of the Regional Plan Association, and Alice Blank, the chair of Community Board 1. CANSTRUCTION AT BROOKFIELD PLACE
Canstruction is returning to the Brookfield mall for its 34th annual New York competition and exhibition, bringing together teams of architects, engineers and contractors to build 22 large-scale sculptures made entirely from unopened cans of food. The exhibition will be on view October 30 through November 9, 2026, with one sculpture being built live for visitors to watch on Thursday, October 29, starting at 10a in the Winter Garden. (They take about six hours to construct.) There will also be guided tours of the exhibit.
