{"id":377569,"date":"2026-10-20T03:24:46","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T03:24:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/377569\/"},"modified":"2026-10-20T03:24:46","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T03:24:46","slug":"4-year-old-dies-after-tragic-accident-in-familys-queen-creek-driveway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/377569\/","title":{"rendered":"4-year-old dies after \u2018tragic accident\u2019 in family\u2019s Queen Creek driveway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">QUEEN CREEK, AZ (AZFamily) \u2014 A young boy has died after police say he was hit by his family\u2019s car in a Queen Creek driveway <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2026\/10\/16\/child-critically-hurt-after-being-hit-by-car-queen-creek-neighborhood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2026\/10\/16\/child-critically-hurt-after-being-hit-by-car-queen-creek-neighborhood\/\">last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">Around 8 a.m. on Oct. 16, first responders were called to a home on <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/4oH4LW4nqVw4P6EU9\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/4oH4LW4nqVw4P6EU9\" target=\"_blank\">Escalante Road,<\/a> near Crismon and Ocotillo roads.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The family was getting ready to leave home when the boy was hit by the family\u2019s SUV, according to Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police said neighbors rushed over to help before first responders arrived. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital, then flown to a different hospital in critical condition. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Queen Creek police said Monday that the boy later died that same day. They did not identify him. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">This incident is still under investigation, but Brice said last week that it was a tragic accident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThe biggest thing we want to say is this is an absolutely tragic situation. An accident that occurred where it\u2019s going to have a lot of impact on the family, obviously, and the community,\u201d the chief said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Chief Brice said the department is working with the officers and neighbors involved to ensure everyone receives necessary resources.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOur hearts are with the family.
