K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel just opened a new location in DUMBO.

Co-founder Steven Parker says the business started 22 years ago and the goal is to make it a little easier for pet owners to leave their dogs.

“When someone comes into a canine resort location, if you took the canine logo off the wall, we want them to feel like they’re in a five-star hotel, whether that’s for people or for dogs. A five-star hotel is a five-star hotel,” said Parker.

The resort offers daycare or all-inclusive stays ranging from pet preferences to price points. The all-inclusive price for the Founders Suite is listed as $1000 a day and comes with multiple amenities.

“We will pick up your dog in a limousine, bring him to a steakhouse, get a filet mignon, get an ice cream dinner. And you can also wear a $150,000 collar,” said Parker.

The facility has hospital-grade filtration systems, antimicrobial flooring, outdoor and indoor play spaces, and all staff are trained in pet CPR.

“When they walk in, and they say, ‘Wow, this looks nicer than the hotel that we’re staying at.’ And that’s intention, right? When we started the brand, we didn’t want a traditional dog kennel. We could not have dogs. Jason and I, growing up, because our parents said, ‘There’s no good place to leave your dog.’ We want to create the ideal place for dogs,” said Parker.
