Kathy Hochul.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The investigation was done by State Police and the Department of Financial Services (DFS). The agencies uncovered nearly $500,000 in attempted fraudulent claims across New York City and Suffolk, Onandaga, Monroe and Erie counties.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">In one incident in Brooklyn back in 2025, a driver allegedly turned into another car at an intersection and then lied to authorities, saying that the victim ran a stop sign. The suspect received more than $16,000 from medical insurance claims.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Those arrested are facing 31 total charges, including 29 felonies and two misdemeanors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Sixteen people have been arrested for car insurance claims, according to Gov.
