NEW YORK (VINnews) \u2014 Fox News Digital accompanied Dr. Mehmet Oz on Tuesday as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services administrator confronted two Queens adult day care centers over suspected Medicaid fraud, questioning employees about billing records, attendance figures and wheelchair transportation charges.<\/p>\n

Dr. Oz confronts a New York City senior day care director during a surprise visit, questioning Medicaid billing records that appear to show more seniors receiving services than are actually present.<\/p>\n

Dr. Oz presses the director over the discrepancies as federal investigators expand their crackdown on suspected fraud at senior care facilities across the city. The director disputes the concerns, but Oz isn\u2019t finished asking questions.<\/p>\n

The visits to Kent Senior Care and Evergreen Adult Day Care in Flushing were part of a broader crackdown in which federal officials delivered warning letters to more than 80 providers across New York City, according to Fox News Digital\u2019s on-the-ground report.<\/p>\n

Oz challenged staff over discrepancies between reported attendance and the number of seniors present. At Kent Senior Care, he questioned why billing records appeared to reflect attendance five days a week when the director said many participants came only two or three days.<\/p>\n

The director maintained that the facility billed only for actual attendance and suggested wheelchair-related billing codes may have been copied from older records.<\/p>\n

At Evergreen, Oz questioned reported attendance figures after observing fewer people than the manager had described. He also pointed to sign-in sheets containing entries dated Oct. 22 and 23, which were still in the future at the time of the visit. It was unclear whether the entries were advance schedules or completed attendance records.<\/p>\n

Oz alleged that criminal networks were exploiting Medicaid-funded programs through fraudulent billing arrangements. He also alleged links to money laundering and human trafficking, claims that Fox News Digital said it had not independently verified.<\/p>\n

The operation involved the FBI, the Department of Health and Human Services inspector general, the NYPD and other agencies. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul acknowledged the crackdown, calling it a major effort to combat Medicaid fraud and abuse.<\/p>\n

Kent Senior Care declined to comment to Fox News Digital, while Evergreen Adult Day Care did not immediately respond to the outlet\u2019s request for comment. The investigations were ongoing.<\/p>\n
