Police say both men are from Rockland County.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">According to the NYPD, officers initially responded to a report of a single-car crash on the outbound upper level of the bridge at around 7 p.m. Tuesday. Instead, police discovered Irvine unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the rear right shoulder.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Paramedics rushed him to Englewood Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">His alleged killer, Romero, of Haverstraw, worked at the NYPD&#8217;s Narcotics Borough Brooklyn North and retired 25 years ago.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">According to sources, Irvine just recently celebrated his 20th anniversary working for Con Edison.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">A Con Ed spokesperson released the following statement.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">&#8220;We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of a member of the Con Edison family in this senseless act of violence.
