The Broadway production of horror play Paranormal Activity<\/a>\u00a0will host a special free screening of the hit original film outside of the August Wilson Theatre on Halloween. The screening will begin at 5 PM on 52nd Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue.<\/p>\n

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blanket, chair, or something comfortable to sit on. Each attendee will have the chance to win a pair of free tickets to a future performance of\u00a0Paranormal Activity\u00a0on Broadway.<\/p>\n

The production recently\u00a0extended its premiere Broadway run by eight weeks.<\/a> Originally set to close January 3, 2027, it will now run August Wilson Theatre through February 28, 2027.<\/p>\n

Transferring from sold-out runs from London to Los Angeles, the stage adaptation of the 2007 screen horror favorite is directed by Felix Barrett<\/a> and penned by Levi Holloway<\/a>. The Paranormal Activity stage play is a story distinct from the film, following couple Lou and James who move from Chicago to London to escape their past, soon discovering that places aren\u2019t haunted\u2014people are.<\/p>\n

The cast includes Cher \u00c1lvarez as Lou, Travis A. Knight<\/a> as James, Shannon Cochran<\/a> as Carolanne, and Eva Kaminsky<\/a> as Etheline Cotgrave, with understudies Caron Buinis<\/a>, Caroline Hendricks<\/a>, and Michael Holding<\/a> rounding out the company. \u00c1lvarez, Knight, Cochran, Buinis, Hendricks and Holding are all making their Broadway debuts and reprising their roles from previous productions across North America.<\/p>\n

Released by Paramount Pictures in 2009, the original Paranormal Activity film is a master class in psychological terror. Reimagining the found footage genre for a new generation, the film became a global sensation, grossing nearly $200 million worldwide and kicking off a blockbuster franchise spanning seven feature films.<\/p>\n

Paranormal Activity features scenic and costume design by Fly Davis<\/a>, illusion design by Chris Fisher<\/a>, lighting design by Anna Watson<\/a>, sound design by Gareth Fry<\/a>, video and projection design by Luke Halls<\/a>, and general management by Envoy Theatricals<\/a>‘ Samuel Dallas<\/a> and Marty McGuire<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jason Blum<\/a>, founder and CEO of Blumhouse, the original producer of the Paranormal Activity film franchise, is on the producing team for the Broadway bow, which is also produced in association with Paramount Pictures, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Center Theatre Group<\/a>, Shakespeare Theatre Company<\/a>, and American Conservatory Theater. The staging was originally produced at Leeds Playhouse<\/a>. In addition to Blum, the producing team includes Simon Friend<\/a>, Hanna Osmolska<\/a>, Ken Davenport<\/a>, Gavin Kalin Productions<\/a>, Seaview<\/a>, Crooked Letter<\/a>, Blumhouse, John Gore Organization<\/a>, Michael Ngo<\/a>\/David Thomas Tao<\/a>, Olympus Theatricals<\/a>\/FineWomen Productions<\/a>, Amplify Pictures<\/a>, Robina Riccitiello<\/a>, and Lone Pine Theatricals<\/a>.
