Queens of the Stone Age have announced<\/a> their ninth studio album, \u201cPerfecth,\u201d which is scheduled for Oct. 30 through Matador Records. The announcement follows weeks of cryptic teasers from the band and arrives with the release of \u201cInsignificant Other<\/a>,\u201d the second preview of the album after \u201cEasy Street,\u201d which featured Nikki Lane.<\/p>\n \u201cPerfecth\u201d will be issued digitally and on CD and vinyl<\/a>, with a limited deluxe edition offering additional packaging and artwork. Produced by frontman Josh Homme and bassist Michael Shuman, the album was recorded during sessions in New Orleans and Los Angeles and contains nine tracks exploring different forms of love, loss and recovery. The album\u2019s title intentionally alters the word \u201cperfect,\u201d reflecting Homme\u2019s view that perfection is ultimately unattainable. \u201cNothing in this world is perfect, but everything seems to be \u2018perfecth\u2019,\u201d Homme said. He added, \u201cAnd that title is funny when you\u2019re in a group, but it ain\u2019t so funny when you\u2019re alone.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cInsignificant Other\u201d serves as a central piece of the album<\/a> and was reportedly captured in only two takes, allowing Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore to preserve a spontaneous quality in the performance. Homme described the song as \u201ca song about distance,\u201d focusing on the disorienting experience of losing someone who once occupied a central place in your life. NME characterized the track as a groove-driven addition to the Queens of the Stone Age catalog, while other reports noted its looser, more expansive feel.<\/p>\n The album\u2019s track list<\/a> also includes \u201cIt\u2019s Only Love,\u201d \u201cWhere The Goth Girls At?,\u201d \u201cMono,\u201d \u201cFrom the Cliff,\u201d \u201cSunday,\u201d \u201cEasy Street,\u201d \u201cPhantom Limb\u201d and \u201cRun Away From The Mob.\u201d The band has described the material as moving between contrasting moods and emotional perspectives, with Homme saying the songs intentionally come from different places while connecting themes of love, lust, foolishness and hard-earned wisdom.<\/p>\n Queens of the Stone Age returned to the road in September for North American stadium dates with Foo Fighters before heading overseas for headline performances in Japan, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand later in 2026.<\/p>\n Stream \u2018Insignificant Other\u2019 \u2013 HERE<\/a>.
