\n\tFor Queens of the Stone Age<\/a>, nine is the perfecth number.<\/p>\n

\n\tNext Friday, Oct. 30, Josh Homme and Co. drop Perfecth (via Matador Records), their ninth studio album. The\u00a0LP collects nine songs, including \u201cEasy Street,\u201d which strolled into our lives in July of this year, and \u201cWhere The Goth Girls At?,\u201d which the rockers performed late Wednesday (Oct. 21) on NBC\u2019s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.<\/p>\n

\n\tBathed in cold blue light, QOTSA sounded tight for their late-night spot, appeared lean and mean.<\/p>\n

\n\tPerfecth took shape across a series of studios, cities, and timelines, reads a statement. \u201cThe reason these songs didn\u2019t get finished until now is because I wasn\u2019t qualified to finish them,\u00a0yet,\u201d Homme explains.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe\u00a0record\u2019s songs are said to map different forms of love: of family, friends, and others both significant and insignificant. \u201cThe loves that break you beyond survival and the loves that put you back\u00a0together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s the followup to 2023\u2019s In Times New Roman, after which the band took some time out from touring as Homme battled ill health. The band called off eight festivals shows on their End Is Nero tour<\/a> so the frontman could fly back to the U.S. for what was described at the time as \u201cemergency surgery<\/a>\u201c; another seven European festival gigs slated for August were then pulled due to the health issue. Homme has been open about his health dilemmas in the past, revealing in 2023 that he\u2019d undergone surgery for cancer after being diagnosed in 2022.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat was then. The five piece \u2014 Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean\u00a0 Fertita and Jon Theodore \u2013- are back out on the road<\/a>. Next up, a concert Saturday (Oct. 24) in Iceland, followed by Nov. 16 CORE \/ Sweet Stuff Foundation Benefit at L.A.\u2019s The Wiltern, and a run of shows in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe title of the new album, admits Homme, \u201cis funny when you\u2019re in a group, but it ain\u2019t so f\u2014ing funny when you\u2019re alone and you realize how imperfect everything is. It\u2019s the struggle.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
