{"id":380254,"date":"2026-10-23T00:32:45","date_gmt":"2026-10-23T00:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/380254\/"},"modified":"2026-10-23T00:32:45","modified_gmt":"2026-10-23T00:32:45","slug":"cops-hunting-rape-suspect-who-attacked-woman-in-bronx-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/380254\/","title":{"rendered":"Cops hunting rape suspect who attacked woman in Bronx home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 24-year-old woman was raped inside a Bronx home, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.officer.com\/command-hq\/news\/55410373\/nypd-reports-record-low-shootings-and-murders-through-first-nine-months-of-year\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NYPD<\/a> has identified her attacker.<\/p>\n<p>The victim was sexually assaulted inside a residence near Jerome Ave. and Marcy Place in Highbridge around 1 a.m. on Sept. 29,\u00a0 cops said. The creep also stole the victim\u2019s phone valued at roughly $1,000, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Medics rushed the victim to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nychealthandhospitals.org\/locations\/lincoln\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lincoln Hospital<\/a> in stable condition. She and her attacker knew each other and are acquaintances, a police source said.<\/p>\n<p>The NYPD identified the suspect as Ajene Nelson, 24. He has three arrests on record, all from 2000, with charges including burglary, robbery and criminal contempt.<\/p>\n<p>Police released an image of Nelson on Thursday and are asking for the public\u2019s help tracking him down.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information is asked to call <a href=\"https:\/\/crimestoppers.nypdonline.org\/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crime Stoppers<\/a> at (800) 577-TIPS.
