{"id":380566,"date":"2026-10-23T07:05:19","date_gmt":"2026-10-23T07:05:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/380566\/"},"modified":"2026-10-23T07:05:19","modified_gmt":"2026-10-23T07:05:19","slug":"news-12-bronx-manhunt-ends-as-us-marshals-capture-suspect-accused-of-running-down-nypd-officer-in-hunts-point-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/380566\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Bronx | Manhunt Ends As Us Marshals Capture Suspect Accused Of Running Down Nypd Officer In Hunts Point"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The man accused of seriously injuring an NYPD officer in a <a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/nypd-officer-struck-by-suv-in-bronx-hit-and-run\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hit-and-run in Hunts Point on Saturday<\/a> has been arrested, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Eduard Paulino, 31, was taken into custody in the Bronx early Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The incident happened around 7:20 p.m. near Garrison Avenue and Whittier Street in Hunts Point.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The NYPD says officers responding to a loud music complaint encountered a large crowd when a man behind the wheel of a white Honda SUV allegedly struck an officer and sped away.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The officer suffered significant leg injuries and was rushed to Lincoln Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Following the crash, police launched a search for the driver.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The U.S. Marshals Service and the New York\/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force joined the investigation, leading to Paulino&#8217;s arrest less than two days later.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">&#8220;There is nowhere to hide in New York for individuals who choose violence against law enforcement,&#8221; said U.S. Marshal Ricky J.
