From trick-or-treating across a historic farm to a neighborhood parade and a screening of a cult classic, Queens has plenty of ways to get into the Halloween spirit this year.<\/p>\n
Whether little monsters are looking to fill their bags of candy, costume enthusiasts want to show off their spooky style or adults are ready for a Halloween night out, the borough has all kinds of fun brewing for Halloweekend, Oct. 30 and 31. Details for the events are easily found online.<\/p>\n
The festivities kick off Friday, Oct. 30, with the family-friendly Mad Monster Lab Haunted House & Fall Festival at the Bowne Park Field House in Flushing, at 29th Avenue and 157th Street. Attendance is free.<\/p>\n
Hosted by NYC Parks, the event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. and features a pumpkin patch, arts and crafts, inflatables and spooky music for an afternoon of fun.<\/p>\n
As the sun goes down, the Mad Monster Lab haunted house will open its doors for those brave enough to enter.<\/p>\n
The following day, early risers can get their Halloween celebration started early on Oct. 31 in South Queens at the Howard Beach Kiwanis Club\u2019s Halloween Parade.<\/p>\n
The procession will gather at 10:30 a.m. at the Speedway near Cross Bay Boulevard and 159th Avenue. Participants will leave at 11 a.m., walking to Cross Bay and 165th Avenue for a block party. Costumes are encouraged, so little ghosts, goblins and superheroes can join the neighborhood celebration.<\/p>\n
The Queens County Farm Museum is bringing a full day of Halloween fun to its 47 acres at 73-50 Little Neck Pkwy. in Floral Park on Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n
The Halloween on the Farm event invites children and their grown-ups to explore the historic Adriance Farmhouse for ghost stories before trick-or-treating at nine candy stations scattered throughout the farm.<\/p>\n
Visitors can also tackle the three-acre Amazing Maize Maze, take a festive hayride, visit the pumpkin patch, meet farm animals and browse seasonal treats, food vendors, crafts and fresh produce.<\/p>\n
