Applications close Feb. 8, 2027, at 11:59pm. Each board can include up to 50 volunteer members.

Community boards work with city agencies, elected officials and local leaders to address neighborhood concerns. They review land use proposals, weigh in on liquor licenses and transportation projects, and contribute to discussions about the city budget and services such as sanitation. Brooklyn has 18 community districts, more than any other borough.

Photo: Supplied/ Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso

The application drive aims to broaden participation and ensure board membership reflects Brooklyn’s diverse communities.
