Among those attending were Lily Zivkovic and her husband, Radoslav, whose former leadership of the company providing catering to the United Nations, including its General Assembly, brought a particularly informed appreciation of the evening’s hospitality. Their table also included executives currently working at the United Nations, alongside food enthusiasts and connoisseurs whose travels have taken them to distinguished dining rooms around the world. Coming together from across New York City, Connecticut and Westchester, this company brought more than an appetite. They shared a practiced understanding of fine food, wine and service—and an appreciation for the imagination and precision required to make a dinner memorable.

The intentionally limited seating allowed the evening to retain the character of a private dinner party. Family-style service encouraged conversation and discovery, with guests sharing dishes, comparing impressions, and enjoying the company as much as the cooking.

The welcome selection established the evening’s range: Serrano ham croquettes with saffron aïoli and piquillo pepper, chestnut soup with rosemary cream, and salmon tartare and pâté de campagne crostini, accompanied by Domaine Rolet Crémant du Jura. Grilled calamari with white beans, arugula and rosemary followed, alongside beet salad with goat cheese, red onion marmalade and hazelnut vinaigrette. His former Danny Brown Wine Bar & Kitchen became the first restaurant in Queens to earn a Michelin star in the 2011 guide. At Tourmaline, that culinary legacy met Lemoine’s own sensibility in an evening rooted in both collaboration and place.

Guests received copies of “Cooking for Queens,” extending the experience beyond the table. The evening’s lasting impression, however, was closer to home: the pleasure of finding food and hospitality worthy of a well-traveled audience within the intimate, small-town atmosphere that makes Forest Hills distinctive.

For more information, visit www.chefdannybrown.com

Tourmaline Restaurant welcomed a small gathering for a collaborative dinner featuring Chef Danny Brown and Chef Yvan Lemoine, celebrating Brown’s book, “Cooking for Queens – Danny Brown Wine Bar and Kitchen Recipes.”

An evening celebrating “Cooking for Queens” brought exceptional food, thoughtful wine pairings, and well-traveled connoisseurs together on Metropolitan Avenue, Forest…

[37
9,24,63,122,124,123
post-386476","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-queens","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nyc","tag-queens","tag-queens-headlines","tag-queens-news
["GET
