The three men in the Sebring got out after the crash and left in another car; police last saw that vehicle heading south on Boone Avenue. The NYPD has released surveillance images as part of its appeal.<\/p>\n<p>Medics took the injured man to St. Barnabas Hospital. The Daily News reported he was expected to recover, while <a href=\"https:\/\/pix11.com\/news\/local-news\/suspects-flee-after-van-hits-76-year-old-man-in-the-bronx-nypd\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PIX11<\/a> described him as being in stable condition after sustaining multiple injuries. Those are the conditions reported by the outlets; the accounts do not establish a later medical update.<\/p>\n<p>What broader context can\u2014and can\u2019t\u2014show<\/p>\n<p>Age is relevant to pedestrian injury outcomes, but it does not explain this particular crash.
