A 15-year-old Bronx teenager has died after being shot Thursday morning in the Claremont section of the borough, according to police.<\/p>\n
Authorities identified the victim as Javits Frimpong, who lived just two blocks from where the shooting occurred.<\/p>\n
News 12 spoke with the victim’s father outside their home Thursday afternoon. Thomas Frimpong describes his son as a very clever boy.<\/p>\n
“He was on his way to school,” says Thomas, speaking about what his son was doing before the shooting.<\/p>\n
Police said the shooting happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. near East 171st Street and Third Avenue.<\/p>\n
Javits Frimpong was initially taken by NYPD officers to St. Barnabas Hospital and was reported in stable condition. Police later said he succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n
Thomas says he learned of the shooting from his son’s principal at Dreamyard Preparatory. He added that the principal had called him a few days prior because there had been an incident at school.<\/p>\n
“They said that two boys had been suspended because my son always complained that they’re bullying him,” said Thomas. <\/p>\n
Investigators are searching for three people in connection with the shooting. No descriptions were immediately available.<\/p>\n
“I want very high justice for my son. Innocent boy,” said Thomas. <\/p>\n
