Jason Maurer has joined SL Green Realty<\/a>, Manhattan\u2019s largest office landlord, as a managing director.<\/p>\n

In his new role, Maurer will oversee retail leasing across the company\u2019s portfolio, as well as lead office leasing for Green Property Services<\/a>, SL Green\u2019s third-party asset management platform, according to the firm.<\/p>\n

Maurer joins SL Green from Brookfield Properties<\/a>, now known as BGRE<\/a>. He joined the company as a vice president in 2018, according to his LinkedIn profile, and over the course of eight years rose to the dual roles of executive vice president and head of leasing for North America.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Maurer\u2019s two decades of retail and office leasing experience also includes roles at Newmark, Ripco Real Estate and General Growth Properties, spanning leasing strategy, portfolio positioning and mixed-use assets.<\/p>\n

\u201cSL Green has long been one of the defining players in New York commercial real estate, with an institutional-quality portfolio and a depth of expertise that\u2019s hard to replicate,\u201d Maurer said in a statement. \u201cWhat has impressed me is how entrepreneurial the company remains given that scale. I\u2019m looking forward to bringing my experience across retail and office leasing to build on the strength of SL Green\u2019s retail portfolio across New York while helping grow Green Property Services.\u201d<\/p>\n

Green Property Services provides leasing and management services to properties owned by outside landlords. As of late September, the business operates across five buildings, totalling 1.3 million square feet.<\/p>\n

Maurer holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science from the University of Michigan. After graduating in 2004, he joined Newmark Knight Frank, now Newmark, in its retail arm. He currently serves on the board of the Alliance for Downtown New York, Lower Manhattan\u2019s business improvement district.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for BGRE<\/a> declined to comment on the news.<\/p>\n
