BROOKLYN, New York (WABC) — The NYPD has released an image of Katie Suarez, the woman who remains in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck while jogging in Brooklyn Friday night.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen Suarez between 7:56 p.m. and 8:12 p.m. Friday in the vicinity of the eastbound bike path along the Belt Parkway between Bay 8th Street and Bay 17th Street to come forward as investigators continue to piece together what happened.

The release of the image marks a new development in the case, which police sources say left the 28-year-old woman critically injured while she was out training for the New York City Marathon.

The stabbing happened shortly after 8 p.m. Friday near Bay Parkway and Cropsey Avenue. Sources said Suarez was jogging along the path when she was attacked. She was later found by her father, who went looking for her when she did not return home.

Police have not identified any suspects or announced a motive.

On Saturday, runners along the path told Eyewitness News they were shocked by the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the NYPD.
