Wolf & Lamb Steakhouse<\/a>, one of New York City\u2019s most established kosher restaurants, is moving. The Midtown institution has closed its longtime East 48th Street home and is preparing to reopen at a new Midtown address about a ten-minute walk away.<\/p>\n

The restaurant shared the news on Instagram over the summer, after nearly 30 years on East 48th Street. \u201cIt is with a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation that we prepare for our last day of service at our current 48th Street location,\u201d the announcement read. \u201cWe look forward to welcoming you soon to our new midtown location, just a short walk away, where we will continue creating memorable experiences together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wolf & Lamb has been a fixture of New York kosher dining for three decades, and it helped define what upscale kosher dining could look like in Manhattan. The steakhouse built a loyal following around classic steakhouse fare, with glatt kosher meats butchered on premises and hand selected, alongside burgers, salads, chicken, pasta, and fish dishes. Its dining room has hosted business leaders, celebrities, political figures, family celebrations, dates, and tourists in the heart of Midtown.<\/p>\n

The restaurant expanded to Brooklyn in 2012<\/a>, where its Flatbush outpost served that borough for nearly a decade before it did not reopen after the pandemic<\/a>. The Manhattan flagship has been its only location since.<\/p>\n

The Move to a New Midtown Home<\/p>\n

Wolf & Lamb\u2019s website confirms the restaurant is currently closed as it prepares for the move. An automated message on its phone line tells callers the restaurant is relocating after 30 years to a spot \u201cjust a short 10-minute walk away.\u201d The new space keeps the steakhouse in the same Midtown neighborhood it has anchored since the 1990s. Diners with questions, and those looking to make future bookings, are asked to email the restaurant directly.<\/p>\n

Location and Kosher Certification<\/p>\n

Wolf & Lamb Steakhouse operated at 16 East 48th Street, between Madison and Fifth Avenues, for three decades. The restaurant has been under OK Kosher Certification since it opened, with all meats glatt kosher (Chassidishe shechita), all breads Pas Yisroel, and all wines Mevushal.
