Brian May<\/a> is pumping the breaks on the continuous rumors regarding a Queen<\/a> resident at the Sphere.<\/p>\n

For over a year now, fans and onlookers alike have suggested the band would be a natural fit for the state-of-the-art Las Vegas venue. Comments from May and bandmate Roger Taylor<\/a> have only added more fuel to the fire, but in a recent conversation with Rolling Stone<\/a>, the guitarist insisted nothing was imminent.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what to tell you about that,\u201d May remarked to a question about the possibility of a Queen Sphere<\/a> show. \u201cI don\u2019t even know where we are on that. I really don\u2019t. Things change so fast.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m still very much caught up with the idea of this 360-degree surround environment for music, and particularly for us in some kind of retrospective,\u201d May continued. \u201cIt wouldn\u2019t be like the ABBA thing. Everybody says, \u2018Oh, you\u2019re gonna do what ABBA did.\u2019 But no, it would be something different from that, because we have a different history and a different path or whatever. And I still have a template in my head of what we could do, but I don\u2019t think we\u2019re progressing very fast on it for various other reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brian May Clarifies Stance on Future Queen Tours<\/p>\n

May recently turned heads when he said Queen was done touring<\/a> \u2013 a suggestion he later walked back by saying he\u2019d been misquoted. In his latest conversation with Rolling Stone, the guitarist noted he\u2019s simply enjoying having the freedom to do whatever he wants.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I\u2019m on a break, and I\u2019m enjoying my break, and I\u2019m getting to do all the things which I dreamed of doing when there was no time all those years on the road,\u201d he explained. \u201cSo I\u2019m getting to see my kids, I\u2019m getting to see my grandchildren, getting to do a lot of projects on the side which I\u2019ve dreamed of doing. I get to do more astrophysics. I get to do more animal welfare and animal campaigning work. And all round, it\u2019s been a good decision for me so far.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe one day I\u2019m gonna wake up and think, \u2018Ah, maybe we should get out on the road,\u2019\u201d the rocker conceded. \u201cBut I don\u2019t think I will be committing to nine-month-long tours again.\u201d<\/p>\n
