{"id":391408,"date":"2026-11-02T23:22:10","date_gmt":"2026-11-02T23:22:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/391408\/"},"modified":"2026-11-02T23:22:10","modified_gmt":"2026-11-02T23:22:10","slug":"yeshiva-school-buses-vandalized-with-swastikas-in-brooklyn-israel-jewish-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/391408\/","title":{"rendered":"Yeshiva school buses vandalized with swastikas in Brooklyn &#8211; Israel &#038; Jewish News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                            (Nov. 2, 2026 \/ JNS)\n                    <\/p>\n<p>The New York City Police Department\u2019s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating after four school buses serving Jewish schools in Brooklyn were defaced with antisemitic graffiti and swastikas on Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded to the area of Bedford Avenue and Williamsburg Street West in the 90th Precinct shortly before 10 a.m., after receiving a report that \u201cantisemitic writing and swastikas were spray-painted on four school buses,\u201d an NYPD spokesman told JNS.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are no arrests at this time,\u201d the spokesman said.<\/p>\n<p>Photos of the vandalism show that the yellow school buses have the names of the yeshivas printed in Hebrew on the side, and graffiti including \u201cf*** Israel,\u201d \u201cFree Palestine\u201d and swastikas.<\/p>\n<p>New York Attorney General Letitia James <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NewYorkStateAG\/status\/2117324957835567598?a=WTHUpL5XGAeUihBMqp4&amp;s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">called<\/a> the vandalism \u201cdespicable\u201d and urged anyone with information to contact law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Moshe Spern, president of United Jewish Teachers, condemned the incident as \u201ca blatant act of antisemitism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Mayor Mamdani\u2019s New York City, Jewish schools, synagogues and now even the buses that carry our children are being targeted with hate,\u201d Spern told JNS. \u201cAntisemitism continues to rear its ugly head and Jewish children should never have to board buses covered in Nazi symbols and anti-Israel hatred.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He called on the NYPD to conduct a thorough investigation and for those responsible to be prosecuted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCity leadership must finally take a clear stand against this rising tide of hate,\u201d Spern told JNS.<\/p>\n<p>Lincoln Restler, a member of the New York City Council who represents the district where the vandalism occurred, called the graffiti \u201ctruly obscene\u201d and said he is working with law enforcement to \u201ctrack down those responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe decade-long rise in antisemitic incidents must be stopped,\u201d Restler said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"(Nov. 2, 2026 \/ JNS) The New York City Police Department\u2019s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating after&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":391409,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[36],"tags":[98,100,99,9,24,63],"class_list":["post-391408","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-brooklyn","tag-brooklyn","tag-brooklyn-headlines","tag-brooklyn-news","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nyc"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/391408","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=391408"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/391408\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/391409"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=391408"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=391408"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=391408"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
