This year, the New York City Marathon took place on Sunday, November 1st. Over 59,000 runners crossed the finish line<\/a>, and a whopping 200,000 spectators lined the streets of the city\u2019s five boroughs.<\/p>\n

Pop star and actress Ariana Grande<\/a> was one of the excited onlookers who took to the streets of NYC to cheer on the runners. Alongside her boyfriend Ricky Alvarez, Grande<\/a> was spotted in the crowd by content creator Ella Schweiger<\/a>, creator of Ella\u2019s Envelope.<\/p>\n

Schweiger was at the NYC Marathon to pass out kind notes to runners, written by spectators in her massive Ella\u2019s Envelope. When Schweiger asked Grande<\/a> to write one, Grande was all in.<\/p>\n

In a video shared on Instagram, Schweiger captured the moment she approached Grande. Grande was trying to stay incognito, wearing a face mask and sipping an iced coffee alongside Alvarez.<\/p>\n

\u201cExcuse me, can I ask you a question?\u201d Schweiger says as she approaches Grande. \u201cI am delivering kind messages in this big envelope to runners that are running today. Would you guys write a message?\u201d<\/p>\n

Grand replies, \u201cSure! That\u2019s cute!\u201d as she takes a pen and a piece of paper from Schweiger.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you sure?\u201d Schweiger responds, as Grande says, \u201cYeah, why not?\u201d<\/p>\n

Schweiger thanks her excitedly. Once done writing her message, Grandev hands it over, saying, \u201cThere you go! That\u2019s such a great thing!\u201d<\/p>\n

Schweiger tells Grande, \u201cThank you so much! I\u2019ll post it in the envelope!\u201d<\/p>\n

Ecstatic, Schweiger turns to the camera and brandishes Grande\u2019s note. \u201cAriana Grande has just written a message for my envelope. I\u2019m shaking!\u201d she squeals.<\/p>\n

She then read what Grande wrote: \u201cYou did it!\u201d alongside three hand-drawn hearts. Grande signed it \u201cAri + Ricky.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the next clip, Schweiger puts Grand\u2019s note into her big Ella\u2019s Envelope. She approaches a finisher named Ellie, who is wrapped in an orange post-race blanket, and asks if she\u2019d like a kind note from a stranger.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is so sweet!\u201d Ellie says as she reaches into the envelope for the note. \u201cIt says: \u2018You did it! From Ari and Ricky.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when Schweiger reveals who actually wrote it. \u201cNo, no, no, no, no, no, no, no\u2026I can\u2019t believe you picked that one! That\u2019s from Ariana Grande! She wrote that this morning!\u201d says Schweiger.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you serious?!\u201d Ellie asks repeatedly, then reveals she was listening to Grande\u2019s hit song \u201cThe Way\u201d during Mile 24.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt got me through!\u201d Ellie adds. \u201cSo I love me some Ariana Grande. Wait, are you serious?!\u201d<\/p>\n

Schweiger then asks her what got Ellie through the toughest moments of the race, \u201cbesides Ariana Grande.\u201d Ellie shares, \u201cExcept for knowing that I would get [a note] of Ariana Grande\u2019s, honestly, it was them [she says as she points to her crew]. Knowing that so many of my friends and family showed up. And the energy\u2026I\u2019ve never experienced anything like that. People saying my name, I don\u2019t know, and people like you, honestly!\u201d<\/p>\n
