You don’t need to watch anything. Justin Fields is not an NFL quarterback. Let’s be honest.

“And you can’t sit here and tell your team before games, I want them to rally, I want them to give you all they got, when you’re not giving your team everything they need to be successful. I mean, he shouldn’t have played in the second half, right? Especially when you have a defense … who played, all in all, scrappy. They were in this game, and this is a game where if you win this game, you’re on a three-game winning streak, and you really start to rally the troops because now they start believing in each other.”

The Jets are becoming yet another team that became mesmerized by Fields’ potential due to his dual-threat skills only to realize that doesn’t translate to production.

The Bears and Steelers each moved on from Fields for this reason, and it’s possible the Jets may have done so if Tyrod Taylor didn’t suffer an injury before the Week 8 upset win over the Bengals.

Justin Fields struggled in the passing game Thursday. AP

The simple but brutal reality is that Fields cannot guide an acceptable passing offense, a major sin in today’s aerial-focused NFL.

Or, as owner Woody Johnson said about the offense: “If we could just complete a pass, it would look good.”

Fields completed 15-of-26 passes for 116 yards and one touchdown in Thursday’s divisional clash, while adding 11 rushes for 67 yards and one touchdown.

He now has failed to clear 120 passing yards in five of his nine starts, notching games with 27, 45, 26 and 54 passing yards.

It’s worth noting that the Jets have lacked a second receiver all season and star playmaker Garrett Wilson did not play Thursday due to a knee injury.

Glenn, who isn’t helping the situation with his “I won’t name the starting quarterback” shtick, praised Fields after falling to 2-8.

“There are some good things,” he said. “There are some really good things. I thought he put some balls out there and we got to have some guys make some plays for him too.”

Woody wasn’t having that, though.

Former Jets offensive lineman Damien Woody in 2022. The tape don’t lie. I’m on the field. We watch missed throws, bad mechanics, he doesn’t trust his feet. We said it in the pregame, he needs to see it and throw it.”

He noted that some Jets were open and using their hands to indicate that the ball should come to them, indicating Fields did not read the field well.

“That’s not the NFL. You got to see it and go. And it’s redundant. And it’s tired. And I feel bad for those guys, because you can tell they’re still playing with pride … This offensive line came out ready for a fight,” Colon said. “I’m more frustrated with Aaron Glenn, because it’s not about the ballplayers, it’s about Aaron Glenn. What he did tonight was nonsense, it’s ridiculous.”

Glenn and his staff have extra time to decide if they still want to stick with Fields before they return in Week 12 for a road game against the Ravens.

Some ex-Jets linemen are accusing the team of becoming the living embodiment of the famous “Arrested Development” line,…

[6
429,23158,6768,837,9,11,430,10,22,319,2085,23159
post-39773","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-new-york","tag-aaron-glenn","tag-damien-woody","tag-justin-fields","tag-new-england-patriots","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-headlines","tag-new-york-jets","tag-new-york-news","tag-nfl","tag-sports","tag-sports-entertainment","tag-willie-colon
["GET
