Nearly $10,000 worth of Pok\u00e9mon cards and baseball cards were taken in the incident, which unfolded just before noon on Oct. 20 at the business on Lafayette Street in SoHo, according to a statement from the NYPD\u2019s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.<\/p>\n
Police said a man entered the store and brought the items to the register. His credit card was declined, but he allegedly entered prompts into the terminal manually that overrode the system, without the employee\u2019s knowledge, an NYPD spokesperson said in the statement. <\/p>\n

The store, CardVault by Tom Brady, had opened weeks prior. There are multiple locations including one at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey. <\/p>\n
Authorities described the individual sought as a man with a medium complexion, who was seen wearing a black Yankees cap, black sweatshirt, black shorts and white sneakers. He was carrying a tote bag with a cartoon character on it.<\/p>\n
