STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Peter Revello<\/a> just hit a major career milestone, and he couldn\u2019t have made a stronger first impression. <\/p>\n

During an appearance this week on \u201cThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/a>\u201d shared on YouTube, the Staten Island native brought his sharp humor to national television, earning big laughs from the crowd. <\/p>\n

Revello has been steadily building momentum in New York City\u2019s comedy scene \u2014 from placing second in the Devil\u2019s Cup competition to co-producing popular shows in the East Village and Bushwick. <\/p>\n

Fallon introduced him as a rising comic fresh off a comedy prize in Shreveport, La., and performing this Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Comedy Cellar in New York.<\/p>\n

Diving straight into his signature sharp, straightforward wit, Revello opened with stories from a recent trip to Las Vegas, joking that you \u201cgot to be a little dumb to like Las Vegas,\u201d describing the city as a place tailor-made for a \u201ccolors and sounds sort of person.\u201d <\/p>\n

His bit on losing money at the tables \u2014 \u201cWhen does the addiction part kick in on this?\u201d drew big laughs, especially when he compared gambling to drinking. <\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t drink if there was a 50-50 chance every time I ordered a beer, I\u2019d be handed an empty beer bottle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Revello kept the crowd rolling as he moved into family humor, recalling his grandmother who lived to 103. <\/p>\n

\u201cA tree age, not a human age,\u201d Revello joked. <\/p>\n

He used the joke to riff on society\u2019s impatience with older people. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe like the things they leave behind. Museums, secondhand stores, old houses,\u201d said Revello. \u201cMeanwhile, if an actual old person tries to tell you a story, you feel rage you\u2019ve never felt before.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comic also poked fun at blue-collar New Yorkers and their aversion to therapy, noting that the men he grew up around treat sports talk radio as a form of emotional counseling. <\/p>\n

\u201cVinny\u2019s calling about the Yankees, but it\u2019s not really about the Yankees,\u201d said Revello. \u201cHe\u2019s like, \u2018Yankees doing it this year? Also, you ever get sad?\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the biggest laughs of the night came from a story about a couple at a bar trying to proposition Revello and his wife. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s never the couple you want it to be,\u201d joked Revello. \u201cIt\u2019s always a Renaissance-fair-looking couple\u2026 \u2018Good morrow, squire.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Revello closed with a bit about being broke and living in a studio apartment so small it could never be the setting for a haunted-house movie. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019d be over in three minutes,\u201d he said. \u201cThat doll could be anywhere! Oh, no, it\u2019s right there. It\u2019s in the kitchen bathroom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fallon praised Revello\u2019s sharp, rapid-fire humor, calling the set \u201cfantastic,\u2019’ as the audience cheered. <\/p>\n
