The Real Housewives of New York City season 16 is officially — and finally — coming our way.

“We have a cast for The Real Housewives of New York City,” Andy, 57, revealed during his BravoCon 2025 “Ask Andy” panel on Sunday, November 16. “We are gonna be filming in the next few months. Very excited about that. More to come about that.”

When the crowd prompted him to name the women, Andy was unable or unwilling to share any details.

Earlier this weekend, Andy confirmed that the next iteration of RHONY would not be hybrid between original show and the rebooted version.

“I honestly trust the Bravo producers. They know what they’re doing,” Erin Lichy told Us Weekly exclusively on Saturday, November 14. “ I feel like if they really thought that that was the way to go, then that’s the way we would go.” I don’t think that they believe that that’s right for our group.”

The cast for season 16 of the reality series has been a hot topic in recent months. In January, fans noticed that producers put out a casting call for RHONY before season 15 — which starred Jenna Lyons, Ubah Hassan, Jessel Taank, Brynn Whitfield, Erin Lichy, Sai De Silva and Racquel Chevremont — finished airing in February.

Two months later, a source confirmed to Us Weekly that the show was looking for “potential new ladies” before deciding “who is [coming] back and who isn’t.”

Not all Real Housewives give up their diamonds — or peaches/apples — for good. Bethenny Frankel, NeNe Leakes and Dina Manzo are among the ladies who left their respective franchises only to return years later. While Bethenny, NeNe and Dina all returned in a full-time role, other women, including Camille Grammer and Danielle Staub, made […]

“It depends on who they find,” the insider said in March. “It’s unclear on how many cast members they are looking for — and who may stay or who may go. Producers are always putting feelers out to see if they can find anyone new.”

In May, Bravo shut down rumors that RHONY had been canceled after the series was excluded from the network’s upcoming slate of returning programs.

“Final decisions haven’t been made, and they are seeing if they can find a solution,” a source exclusively told Us at the time. “The network and producers have been debating whether or not to bring it back.”

The insider added that none of the cast members had been offered a contract for season 16 yet as the powers that be continued “figuring out how to make it work” behind the scenes.

The Real Housewives of New York City premiered in 2008, but not every Housewife has gone the distance. The season 1 cast of RHONY included Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Bethenny Frankel, Jill Zarin and Alex McCord. While Kelly Killoren Bensimon joined the cast during season 2, Sonja Morgan became a full-time cast member during […]

According to one source, RHONY struggled to survive its 2022 cast reboot, which was not embraced by viewers as expected when the show returned for season 14.

“The audience didn’t catch on to the show and ratings are not what they were with the original cast,” the insider told Us, noting that previous stars like Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer and Luann de Lesseps are still beloved by viewers. “Some of the fans were let down. If you don’t keep the old cast, it becomes a different show, and fans didn’t connect to it.”

Production issues also contributed to “why the network and producers haven’t been sure about its future,” one source said.

“There were problems with the cast, especially with Brynn, that turned dark and ugly and changed the dynamic,” the insider continued, referring to her recent tension with her costars. “Whereas before she was a fan favorite the previous season.”

Ubah also had “caveats about what she will and will not film” when it comes to her personal life, a third source told Us.

Meanwhile, the audience was not “invested” in Jenna despite the network loving her because she only appeared at parties and chose to keep her private life off the show. Per the first insider, “[With] fans not seeing that element of her life, it’s hard to capture her essence.”

Amid the rampant rumors, Brynn announced her exit from RHONY in June after two seasons, citing her desire to focus on other aspects of her career.

“[It] will always be one of the most fun, chaotic and magical chapters of my life,” she wrote via her Instagram Story at the time. “It was the honor of a lifetime to help reboot such an iconic franchise. From day one, I’ve believed RHONY is a fan’s show — we’re just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers.
