Queen guitarist Brian May has shared a welcome health update following the stroke he suffered<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been lucky, I get these things, but I seem to be able to get out of them. To me, that\u2019s what\u2019s keeping me going. That\u2019s what\u2019s keeping me alive.\u201d<\/p>\n The rockstar added that his doctors told him he is \u201cdoing all the right things\u201d when it comes to taking care of his health.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, for now, I\u2019m still here,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n May performs during a Queen concert in 1977. Getty Images For The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame<\/p>\n However, the \u201cWe Are the Champions\u201d musician returned to the stage less than one year after suffering his minor stroke and temporarily losing control of his left arm.<\/p>\n He performed \u201cBohemian Rhapsody\u201d with Benson Boone<\/a> at Coachella in April 2025.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m still reeling from last night at Coachella,\u201d May wrote on Instagram<\/a> hours after his surprise festival appearance. \u201cThanks to all of you folks who made it feel so special \u2014 you know who you are!\u201d<\/p>\n The Queen guitarist out and about in New York City on Sept. 27, 2019. WireImage<\/p>\n But the Queen member\u2019s stroke wouldn\u2019t be the first health scare he endured in recent years.<\/p>\n May suffered a heart attack and \u201ccould have died\u201d back in 2020, although he quickly recovered from that incident as well.<\/p>\n \u201cAnyway, I didn\u2019t die, I came out,\u201d the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer said on social media<\/a> in May 2020. \u201cI\u2019m incredibly grateful that I now have a life to lead again. \u2026 I\u2019m good, I\u2019m here, and I\u2019m ready to rock.\u201d<\/p>\n Queen\u2019s Deacon, Taylor, Mercury and May in 1975. WireImage<\/p>\n May, meanwhile, is joined by former bandmates Roger Taylor, 76, and John Deacon, 74, as the only surviving original members of Queen.<\/p>\n Frontman Freddie Mercury died from AIDS-related bronchial pneumonia in November 1991.
