Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman\u2019s dating advice for young men has gone viral \u2014 as thousands of social media users ruthlessly mock his bizarre pick-up line.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ackman, founder of Pershing Square Capital Management and a major MAGA donor, said he is concerned about a trend of young men struggling to meet women in public due to internet culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs such, I thought I would share a few words that I used in my youth to meet someone that I found compelling. I would ask: \u2018May I meet you?\u2019 before engaging further in a conversation,\u201d Ackman wrote in a post on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ackman \u2014 who is now worth $9.3 billion, according to Forbes \u2014 claimed the pick-up line \u201calmost never got a No\u201d in his younger days, adding that \u201cthe combination of proper grammar and politeness was the key to its effectiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cJust two cents from an older happily married guy concerned about our next generation\u2019s happiness and population replacement rates.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perhaps also helping Ackman\u2019s early romantic life \u2014 having married his first wife, Karen Herskovitz, in 1994 \u2014 was his investment firm Gotham Partners, which he co-founded in 1992. It had grown to more than $500 million in assets<\/a> just a few years later. <\/p>\n

Users online quickly turned the dating advice into a meme, jabbing at the pick-up line\u2019s apparent success rate \u2014 or lack thereof \u2014 in dozens of posts.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay I meet you?\u201d a user wrote in a post with a photo of comedian Shane Gillis leering into the camera.<\/p>\n

Another user added the line to a photo of young women reacting in disgust at a party.<\/p>\n

Users online quickly turned the dating advice into a meme \u2013 jabbing at the pick-up line\u2019s apparent success rate.<\/p>\n

Another added the pick-up line to an awkward interaction caught on camera at a sports game where a woman held up her palm to reject a man sitting next to her \u2014 \u201ctalk to the hand\u201d-style.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018May I meet you\u2019 from a 6\u20193\u201d hedge fund billionaire,\u201d another user wrote next to a photo of actress Sydney Sweeney smiling, \u201cvs. \u2018May I meet you\u2019 from a 5\u20198\u201d junior banker clearing $160K total comp,\u201d the user added next to a shot of Sweeney looking less than pleased.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pick-up line appeared next to a photo of a man standing in the corner of a party surrounded by groups of women ignoring him.<\/p>\n

Another user added a screenshot of the dating app Hinge showing the message \u201cMay I meet you?\u201d sent to five women \u2014 without a single response.<\/p>\n

Yet another user sarcastically added the line to a video of a man surrounded by women hugging him and asking for photos: \u201cLife after saying \u2018May I meet you?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
