\u201cThe President ran on a campaign where he spoke about a promise to deliver cheaper groceries, a promise to reduce the cost of living,\u201d Mamdani noted. \u201cWe are seeing his actions and those of his administration in Washington leading to the exact opposite effect for New Yorkers.\u201d<\/p>\n
The potential meeting follows Trump criticizing Mamdani for weeks \u2014 threatening to withhold federal funding from the city if Mamdani were to become mayor.<\/p>\n
On election night, Mamdani had a message for President Trump: \u201cTurn the volume up.\u201d<\/p>\n
In an interview with WABC-TV, Mamdani opened up about another meeting \u2014 his conversation with Police Comissioner Jessica Tisch.<\/p>\n
Mamdani did not share whether Tisch plans to serve his administration.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe conversation was more about what it can look like to continue to deliver public safety,\u201d he said during the interview.<\/p>\n
Mamdani also responded to a comment Mayor Eric Adams made during his trip to Israel.<\/p>\n
Adams was asked about the safety of Jewish New Yorkers under a Mayor Mamdani.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I [were] a Jewish New Yorker with children, I would be concerned right now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
