Diane Keaton\u2019s cause of death has been revealed. <\/p>\n

Roger Wong\/INFGoff.com<\/p>\n \u201cShe loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n After Keaton\u2019s death, a friend of the actress revealed her health had \u201cdeclined very suddenly\u201d <\/a>in the final months of her life.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was so unexpected,\u201d the friend told People<\/a> at the time, \u201cespecially for someone with such strength and spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n Diane Keaton attends the 2021 LACMA Art + Film Gala. AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n Keaton, whose career<\/a> spanned more than half a century,\u00a0died Saturday, Oct. 11, in California, her family confirmed.<\/p>\n The \u201cFather of the Bride\u201d actress never disclosed if she was battling any illness.<\/a> She previously survived two bouts with skin cancer and an eating disorder.<\/p>\n She last posted to her\u00a0Instagram on April 11<\/a>, sharing a photo with her Golden Retriever, Reggie.
