1.\u00a0Onondaga County IDA approves Micron land transfer, tax breaks<\/a><\/p>\n

The Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency on Tuesday authorized the transfer of 820 acres of land and \u00a0$283.9 million in property tax exemptions for the Micron project.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Lawsuit claims OCIDA forcing 91-year-old from her home to make way for Micron<\/a><\/p>\n

A lawsuit before the New York Supreme Court in Onondaga County claims the county\u2019s Industrial Development Agency is going back on a 20-year agreement with a local family and pushing a 91-year-old woman out of her Clay home in order to make room for an incoming Micron semiconductor facility.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u2018They both were in good spirits\u2019: Upstate Medical employees detained by ICE to have second hearings<\/a><\/p>\n

Both Alex Ramirez Gonzalez and Yan Vazquez Hidalgo will have second hearings in the coming weeks following their detainment by immigration officials, union leaders said. Yesterday, Vazquez Hidalgo had his first hearing where his lawyer requested more time to prepare, and his second hearing will be Dec. 3. Ramirez Gonzalez will have his second hearing on Nov. 24.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Bare Hill Correctional Facility to close, lawmakers say<\/a><\/p>\n

Multiple lawmakers have confirmed that the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision will announce the closure of Bare Hill Correctional Facility in Franklin County Tuesday morning. They say staff will be moved to neighboring facilities. Upstate and Franklin Correctional Facilities are adjacent to Bare Hill.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0Federal judge dismisses DOJ lawsuit over New York immigration court law<\/a><\/p>\n

New York\u2019s Protect Our Courts Act, passed in 2020, bans U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials from arresting people who are coming and going from courthouses or in court for proceedings unless they have a warrant signed by a judge. The Trump administration in June\u00a0sued the state over the policy,\u00a0with U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi saying the law \u201cprevents illegal aliens from apprehension.”.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0House overwhelmingly approves bill to force release of Epstein files<\/a><\/p>\n

Accusers of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein \u2013\u2013 along with House lawmakers who have led the charge to have files in the investigation into Epstein released \u2013\u2013\u00a0heralded an expected vote in the lower chamber Tuesday to force the publication of more material, and called on the Senate to also pass the measure.\u00a0<\/p>\n
