A teenager was hospitalized Wednesday after he was struck by a car while walking to a high school in Union County, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The 15-year-old student was hit shortly after 7 a.m. at Pearl and South streets near Elizabeth High School, a city spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
The accident was described as \u201ca low-speed strike\u201d that occurred as the car was turning, the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
The teenager was not seriously hurt, but reported feeling dizzy. He was taken to University Hospital in Newark \u201cas a precaution,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
The driver was not injured, officials said. No charges have been filed as of Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
