Tom Hanks really, really loves the New York City subway system \u2014 so much so that he penned a song about it.<\/p>\n
The actor enthusiastically crooned a self-penned ditty praising the number 7 train at a gala celebrating The Shed, a non-profit cultural center<\/a> Tuesday evening. <\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t tell you how great it is to be at The Shed every day,\u201d he said in his speech. \u201cWhy? Because it is officially the last stop on the 7 train.\u201d<\/p>\n The Oscar winner then sang while snapping his fingers, \u201cThe Shed is in the Hudson Yards on the Lower West Side off the High Line. Getty Images<\/p>\n The Toy Story 5 star, 69, continued singing the same refrain, as director Kenny Leon, who was also on stage, quickly picked up the tempo.<\/p>\n The \u201cForrest Gump\u201d actor is correct \u2014 the 7 train is conveniently located next to The Shed \u2014 where he\u2019s performing in \u201cThis World of Tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n He co-wrote and stars in the play about a disenchanted scientist from the future who time-travels to the 1939 World Fair. <\/p>\n Hanks is currently starring in \u201cThe World of Tomorrow\u2019 at The Shed.
